Engineering Festival Friday 3rd November 2017

Are you excited? I know I am! Only a few days to go until the Wiltshire Festival of Engineering proudly supported by James Dyson Foundation this Friday the 3rd of November at the Trowbridge Civic Centre. Learn more by visiting www.festivalofengineering.com, I am organizing this event in conjunction with Dr Andrew Murrison MP.

Schools are booked in to attend and then it will be open to the public from 4-5pm. Please do come and check out the interactive and innovative stands including Airbus, Siemens, EDF, Dalehead Foods and much much more!

I created the Festival as a response to the severe skills gap in Wiltshire in engineering, design and technology related roles. A problem I have often coined ‘the ticking time bomb’ to our local and national economy. Wiltshire is a hub of these sectors and the Festival seeks to shine a light on it as well as encourage other potential firms to locate in the county. However we can only achieve this if we all work together to plug the skills gap.

The festival seeks to inspire and engage young minds to make some progress towards tackling this problem. With this in mind each stand is interactive and different, highlighting the array of amazing and varied companies that we have on our own doorstep.
